TALK about anti-climatic.

You lead all comers after running the best part of 42.2 kilometres and look forward to the satisfaction of breasting the tape when a rogue runner appears out of nowhere to steal your thunder.

That’s what happened to Shitaye Gemechu in the Dallas Marathon on Sunday.

The Ethiopian was joined in the final stretch by Janice Moore, who was anchoring her relay team’s race on the same course as the long-distance trek.
