A Gutsy Run by Duncan Ensures her 6th place at Portland

1500m runner Melissa Duncan will miss three months of preparation before the Rio Olympic Games later this year.

“Unfortunately, I’ve been told I have a fracture and torn ligament underneath my foot,” she posted on Instagram on Thursday.

“Not the greatest news a few months out from the Olympics.”

Upon returning to running, it is expected that Duncan will have a mere three weeks preparation before her race on the 12th of August.

Unfortunately, I've been told I have a fracture and torn ligament underneath my foot. Not the greatest news a few months out from the Olympics. Spending the next six weeks in the pool is a slightly different road to Rio than I imagined, but hopefully I can share some insights of this next chapter on my quest to be my best in Rio and help anyone else in the same boat! ?? #alwaysinbeta #rio2016 #roadtorio #comewithus #girlsrunthis
